Practitioner Track — Call for Submissions

Honoring Lived Experience, Embodied Wisdom, and Real-World Practice

The Mindfulness and Mindful Movement Conversations Conference invites practitioners to submit written reflections based on their conference presentations for inclusion in the Conference Proceedings — Practitioner Track.

This track is designed for educators, facilitators, clinicians, counselors, movement teachers, wellness professionals, and community leaders who bring mindfulness and mindful movement into lived, everyday contexts.

You do not need to identify as a researcher to submit.
Your experience is your expertise.

Who Should Submit

We welcome submissions from practitioners who presented sessions focused on:

  • Mindfulness and mindful movement practices

  • Breathwork, Qigong, yoga, or somatic approaches

  • Social-emotional learning (SEL)

  • Trauma-informed or restorative practices

  • Classroom, clinical, community, or workplace wellness

  • Embodied learning and contemplative pedagogy

Both new and seasoned practitioners are encouraged to submit.

What to Submit

Submissions should be grounded in your conference presentation and written for fellow practitioners.

Articles may include:

  • Description of a practice or approach

  • Context and intention for use

  • Reflections on embodied experience

  • Observed outcomes or impacts

  • Practical tips, adaptations, and variations

  • Ethical and trauma-sensitive considerations

Formal data or citations are not required.
Clear reflection, thoughtful observation, and practical insight are valued.

Article Length and Format

  • Length: 1,500–3,000 words

  • Voice: First-person and reflective writing encouraged

  • Format: Follow the Practitioner-Focused Proceedings Article Template

  • Language: Accessible, inclusive, and practitioner-friendly

Optional additions:

  • Practice scripts

  • Visuals or diagrams

  • Reflection prompts

  • Resource lists

Review Process

All practitioner submissions will undergo a supportive editorial review, not a blind peer-review process.

Reviews focus on:

  • Clarity and coherence

  • Alignment with conference values

  • Practical relevance

  • Ethical and inclusive practice

Authors may be invited to revise prior to acceptance.

Research Track — Call for Submissions

Advancing Scholarship in Mindfulness, Embodied Practice, and Mindful Movement

The Mindfulness and Mindful Movement Conversations Conference invites researchers to submit manuscripts based on their conference presentations for inclusion in the Conference Proceedings — Research Track.

This track highlights research that explores the theory, practice, and impact of mindfulness and mindful movement across educational, clinical, community, and organizational contexts.

Who Should Submit

We welcome submissions from presenters whose work includes:

  • Mindfulness and mindful movement research

  • Qigong, yoga, breathwork, or somatic practices

  • Social-emotional learning (SEL)

  • Trauma-informed and contemplative approaches

  • Embodied cognition and learning

  • Program evaluation and implementation research

Submissions may be quantitative, qualitative, mixed-methods, or conceptual and may reflect collaborative or interdisciplinary work.

What to Submit

Manuscripts should be grounded in your conference presentation and clearly articulate:

  • Purpose and rationale

  • Conceptual or theoretical framework

  • Methodology or inquiry approach

  • Findings, outcomes, or key insights

  • Implications for research and/or practice

  • Limitations and future directions

Research may be exploratory, applied, or practice-embedded, provided the inquiry is systematic and ethically grounded.

Article Length and Format

  • Length: 3,000–6,000 words (excluding references)

  • Style: APA (7th edition)

  • Format: Follow the Research-Focused Proceedings Article Template

  • Tone: Scholarly, clear, and accessible to interdisciplinary audiences

Tables, figures, and appendices are welcome where appropriate.

Review Process

All research submissions will undergo a peer-review or editorial review process aligned with conference proceedings standards.

Reviews focus on:

  • Scholarly rigor and clarity

  • Methodological soundness

  • Contribution to the field

  • Ethical considerations

  • Alignment with conference themes and values

Authors may be invited to revise prior to final acceptance.
